Chinese New Year is the festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional solar Chinese calendar. 

According to the Chinese lunar calendar, every year corresponds to one of twelve animals (Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig).
