Antique Opal Demantoid Garnet and Diamond Cluster Ring

This Victorian Era ring is a standout and one of the most beautiful rings in our collection! A bright and colorful opal is surrounded by one of our favorite and most collectible stones, the demantoid garnet. This unique stone was discovered at the end of the reign of Nicholas I, Emperor of Russia, and the beginning of the reign of Tsar Alexander II – after whom the mineral alexandrite was named – this new garnet variety was discovered in the Ural mountains. Circa 1853. The demantoid garnet halo is surrounded by a halo of bright chunky old mine cut diamonds. This ring has an attractive spread across the finger and makes for a bright statement piece. The opals display excellent play-of-color, with green, blue, violet, orange, red, and yellows. We love it worn alone or styled alongside a handful of stacked rings for a "more is more" kind-of-look.
