Victorian Entwined Snakes Diamond Ring

Snakes have a long and rich history in jewelry dating back to Ancient Greece and Rome, where snakes were used to symbolize wisdom. The Victorians often used snakes to symbolize everlasting love, with a coiled snake in particular representing eternity. Queen Victoria herself had a snake ring from her beloved Albert. This snake ring is a beautiful example. Made late in the Victorian era, circa 1883, from rich 18 karat yellow gold. The ring features two snakes intertwined with two Old Mine Cut Diamonds that provide the perfect shine and sparkle.
